As I pursue my NC Art Ed License, the journey has been both challenging and rewarding. Balancing a full-time teaching position and family life often limits my study time. Yet, the depth of our coursework inspires me to delve into various intriguing subjects. Recently, while exploring "The Spiral and The Lattice" by Arthur D. Efland, I found myself contemplating the Fibonacci spiral and its implications for cognitive theory. Art Education is currently questioning traditional models, including Jerome Bruner's Spiral Curriculum from the 1950s and 60s. While I support a more holistic perspective, I believe that understanding the spiral concept is vital for grasping how we build upon existing knowledge. My research led me to several enlightening YouTube presentations on the Fibonacci Spiral, including a captivating time-lapse of a sunflower's growth. Nature and our personal development are interconnected in fascinating ways that we have yet to fully understand. I am hopeful that these revelations may spark a new Renaissance in creativity and learning. If you have insights or relevant studies that could enhance this discussion, I invite you to share them in the comments below. Thank you!
